WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

water-resource-mgmt FloodWorks, Lismore Northern NSW, recognises that water is an essential resource for all life on the planet. Of the water resources on Earth only three percent of it is fresh, with 2% of the freshwater locked up in ice caps and glaciers. Of the remaining 1% percent, a large proportion is in remote, inaccessible areas and much of the seasonal rainfall occurs in large rain events cannot easily be captured.

One of the biggest concerns for our water-based resources in the future is the sustainability of the current and future water resource allocation. As water becomes more scarce the importance of how it is managed grows vastly. Finding a balance between what is needed by humans and what is needed in the environment is an important step in the sustainability of water resources.

FloodWorks is a leading expert in the balancing the supply and demand of water within the context of a residential subdivision, a commercial development, or an industrial processing development. Water generated by rainfall, and waste water is balanced with the demands of the activity being undertaken and can be treated to a potable level using water sensitive best management practices.
